Open Library

One web page for every book ever published. It’s a lofty but achievable goal.

To build Open Library, we need hundreds of millions of book records, a wiki interface, and lots of people who are willing to contribute their time and effort to building the site.

To date, we have gathered over 20 million records from a variety of large catalogs as well as single contributions, with more on the way.

Open Library is an open project: the software is open, the data are open, the documentation is open, and we welcome your contribution. Whether you fix a typo, add a book, or write a widget–it’s all welcome. We have a small team of fantastic programmers who have accomplished a lot, but we can’t do it alone!

Open Library is a project of the non-profit Internet Archive, and has been funded in part by a grant from the California State Library and the Kahle/Austin Foundation.

  1. What would America do without The 99%? The 99 stopped buying goods, using banks, going to work (not adviced) etc. Imagine the long term impact on commerce.  You need to do more then camp and protest. Participation by-action. The  1% provide ‘us’ jobs and they
    too are significant.

I  don’t fancy cars or wear purses that symbolize wealth and often I’m appaled at the people that buy into these things. I would require payment if I were to splatter logos on my textiles!

I care for the well being of my children, their future, our future, retirement, a roof over my head (which I regretfully bought into and can’t get out).

College seems out of our reach and I can only imagine the debt my two kids will carry to accomplish their goals. As a parent I feel sadden that I can’t pay for this.  It’s become a privilege for the very  poor or rich.  We’re painfully paying for private school this year for my ten year old because of public school cut backs and safety factors.

Our government should make schools a priority over funding f…wars.
What happens if we stop sending our kids to school.  Shutdown the system for a week perhaps a month.

America needs to measure its ‘Happiness Factor’ and look to the Northern People (Dutch, Scandinavians for answers). No poverty there and the majority of people own their homes.
The Elderly are well cared for and children are entitled to  great education.

America represents ‘The Land of  Inequality’ and this has been the case for sometime.

  2. I trust in you , especially after NY action !
